"The Beechwold introduces to Columbus new luxury, comfort and beauty in theater design- and the finest in projection and sound. Its acoustically correct auditorium and seating arrangement makes every seat a choice one.The luxury of the interior with its mysterious black light playing on lovely murals - velours and velvets in profusion and a huge foyer that invites our patrons to be comfortable - combined with RCA sound and the finest in projection, distinguishes the Beechwold as an exceptional suburban theater."
From the February 14th, 1941 issue of The Columbus Dispatch.Beechwold Opens Friday
Glamorous to the nth degree, the new Beechwold, 4250 North High Street, opening tonight, is said to be one of America's outstanding theaters. This assertion originated with the F. & Y. Building Service, 328 East Town Street, designers and builders of the project, an organization rated nationally as specialists in the theater construction field. During the past three years, F. & Y. has handled 37 theater jobs in three states. Milton Yassenoff, manager of the Beechwold, has extended a cordial invitation to the public to visit and inspect the new theater. No special events are planned for tonight, the theater opening at 6 o'clock, the attraction being "Tin Pan Alley", plus a program of short subjects.
