- Butterflies in the Rain
In 1996-1997, as graduate students at Ohio State, some friends and I made a computer-animated short film featuring a procedurally-animated upright piano driven by a reproducing piano roll. (The film is available on the DVD Computer Animation Extravaganza.) Our little film was shown at SIGGRAPH 97 and several other major animation festivals, and ultimately landed us jobs at Pixar Animation Studios, where I worked on the films A Bug's Life and Toy Story 2.
